Most headaches are due to dehydration.
The best thing for fast relieve is a full glass of water.
We have also experienced relief, and seen fast relief in others, from headaches with potassium chloride, and with vitamin C, again, each should be taken with a full glass of water.
POTASSIUM:
Try about 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon of powdered potassium chloride. Try less if this is your first time taking it, so only 1/8th teaspoon. We take NuSalt brand of potassium chloride.
High Potassium foods include bananas and white potatoes, but may not be enough to quickly relive a headache.
VITAMIN C:
Try about 1000 mg of ascorbic acid form of Vitamin C. Not fruit. Not whole food C. Not liposomal C. Often, those other forms do not work, but sometimes they do. But ascorbic acid appears to work better and with greater reliability than the other forms. Fruit simply does not contain enough. Neither does whole food C, those pills are often only 100 mg. Liposomal may be 1000 mg, but it’s fat soluble C, and maybe does not go where the water soluble C goes.
Which is more important? Well, which are you most likely deficient in? It’s your decision.
Several other causes of headaches include:
- Excessive sweating and heat exposure leading to dehydration.
- Excessive diuretic foods such as leafy greens, coffee, or diuretic drugs.
- Excessive sodium consumption, supplementation, or salty foods, such as pizza, hotdogs, salami or other cured meats, soy sauce, etc.
- Excessive vitamin A from supplements or foods such as tomatoes, sweet potatoes, mangoes, fortified cereal, multi vitamin or multi mineral supplements that contain vitamin A, or topical lotions that contain ingredients that are difficult to pronounce that are vitamin A derivatives or drugs. Vitamin A is known to be a cause of “pressure headaches”, but not all pressure headaches may be due to vitamin A, but perhaps other causes.
- Other toxins that can be difficult or impossible to identify.
- Neurodegeneration from physical or emotional trauma, alcohol, or prescription drugs.
- Temporary detoxing effects from beginning a proper nutritional program during the first few weeks or months after increasing doses of nutrients that mobilize toxins.
