This text from WEBMD on iodine is mostly all lies. I’ll refute each one.
WEBMD: “This medication contains iodine and potassium iodide.”
Truth: Iodine is NOT a medication, it is not available by prescription. It is a mineral, and available over the counter.
WEBMD: “It is used along with antithyroid medicines to prepare the thyroid gland for surgical removal and to treat certain overactive thyroid conditions (hyperthyroidism, thyroid storm).”
Truth: Lugol’s iodine has been safely used for over 150 years for just about anything and everything, even things doctors had no solution for, then it was demonized, unfairly, through slander, in 1945 at the end of WWII, the same time they added fluoride to the public water supplies. Iodine detoxes fluoride, and fluoride causes iodine deficiency.
Truth: Surgical removal is never necessary. Only nutrition with iodine is necessary. Lugol’s iodine actually, all by itself, treats both hypo and hyper thyroidism. And iodine prevents thyroid storms.
WEBMD: “It works by shrinking the size of the thyroid gland and by decreasing the amount of thyroid hormones the body makes.”
Truth: Iodine works because the thyroid gland needs iodine to make T4 and T3 hormones, which have 4 and 3 atoms of iodine respectively. How would iodine decrease the amount of hormones that are made with iodine in the body? This is an obvious lie.
…WEBMD: “Caution is advised when this drug is given to newborn babies younger than 1 month old.”
Truth: Babies born to mothers on the high iodine program have significant increases in IQ. Babies that are iodine deficient have low IQs. Here is a link to the studies on this: https://revealingfraud.com/2019/08/health/iodine-deficiency-causes-retardation-high-iodine-causes-geniuses/
WEBMD: “Repeated dosing increases the risk of blocking thyroid function, possibly affecting the newborn’s brain development.”
Truth: Iodine boosts IQ, it does affect newborn’s brain development, but only positively. They lie.
WEBMD: “Discuss the risks and benefits with the doctor.”
Truth: Doctors receive nearly no information on vitamins and minerals in medical school, and just about everything they know about iodine is lies. The last thing you should consult a doctor about is vitamins and minerals that you are free to take.
WEBMD: “Treated babies should be given thyroid function tests.”
Truth: Nobody needs to be tested if you take minerals. Mineral supplements never kill anybody.
WEBMD: During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Repeated dosing increases the risk of blocking thyroid function in the unborn baby, possibly causing harm. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Truth: False, false, false, as already proven.
WEBMD: This drug passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Truth: Yes, breast tissue loves iodine, and yes, it does pass into the milk. This is a good thing, unless you want to dumb down the population, starting with your own baby.
